What do YOU pass around?
Ensemble depicts decades of legendary musicians by nothing but their iconic clothing. Brilliant. Simple.
More after the jump…
With an extra fine pen of course.
This Legoman tattoo campaign was created by Grey of Barcelona to demonstrate the fine line capability of the Pilot Extrafine pen. Why a Legoman, you ask? Because he’s only 2 inches tall! And look at the detail on this stereotypically wholesome little dude — who knew he could be so bad.

But I laughed so hard I was crying in my cube. Perfect for a Friday afternoon giggle…
(And don’t worry. It’s SFW.)
I have never seen a more personalized layout for a blog — it’s like someone’s sketched a lovely stream of consciousness all over the page.
PLUS, all of the posts are handmade projects from the author, Scott Bedford. What I Made features Scott’s drawings, gadgets, upcycling crafts and pretty much any clever notion that pops into his head.
“Inspired by Disney’s release of Tron: Legacy, the British designer Ben Rousseau and architect Ian Douglas-Jones set out to capture the dynamism and essence of the movie at the world-famous ICEHOTEL IN Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.” habitat.com
Here’s the making-of video. And all I have to say is…bad ass. 😉
An incredibly adorable concept designed by Mats Ottdal of Jeksel. This is the kind of package design that would make me buy the product and never even taste it. Just put it on a shelf and admire it…and pray every day that a client like this would fall into my lap.
Mats is a Norwegian graphic designer and illustrator, most noted for his typography, illustration and packaging design. He’s currently a vendor for Coca-Cola and Nike and has been featured numerous times in The Dieline.
So, in spite of our discussions about “not spending too much” on Christmas presents this year, my husband surprised me with a brand spanking new iPad. Perhaps it was a form of reparations for being the solo salary during his 6 months of glorious unemployment?! Either that, or it was something he decided “we” couldn’t live without. 😉
Anyway. I have a new iPad. And I have to admit…I’m pretty geeked about it. I have spent the last few days reading reviews on the app store, downloading the 2010 top free apps, and just generally tinkering around with the silly thing in public so I can strut my new fanboy status. I know…DORK!
In all my research and general geekery, the one app that I am completely IN LOVE with is Flipboard. It aggregates all of your social media networks and places them in a positively lovely editorial template. You interact with it like reading a well-designed magazine…only the content is generated by you and your friends.
Here’s a little musical boost on a very grey Michigan hump day. Beautiful!
As a designer, I look forward to designing my own Christmas Cards every year…but, this year, between life and work, I just ran out of time. As a wonderfully edible alternative, I think I might try this DIY holiday gift featured on Style Me Pretty with a modern sans serif font.
